The "I am married" post

The technology of facebook and twitter has reached it's new peak with the ever so popular "I am married" posts. A short personal message or a status update would share with the world your greatest moment in life. And in return, your inbox will be flooded with greetings, wishes and thumbs up. Although I would still love to be told with a surprise phone call or a wedding invitation, I am actually quite a big fan with the modern approach. After all, who has the time and energy to remember all of their friends nowadays.

Perhaps it is with great fortune, that I have seen many of these posts in the past few months, and I would like to congratulate all the lucky couples again. But something has started to haunt me in the recent days, I fear, I fear that I would be informed by a emotionless web browser that "you are married". Just those words, and nothing else. Ergo, deactivation of facebook.
